Laborer

A laborer is typically seen as a beginner-level entry into construction or earthwork. However, at CAP Excavating Inc., a laborer position is looked at as a much higher position. Laborers are expected to be the eyes of all the groundwork for the job site. An experienced laborer knows how to lay civil and domestic utilities, knows how to check grades, read blueprints, is familiar with all types of soils, and safely works around heavy equipment and other hazards of the trade to OSHA standards. Experienced laborers can be foremen of job sites. All field employees start as laborers until they meet the requirements of another position.
